Apprenticeship & Certification Pathways

Holotropic Breathwork®

Certification in Holotropic Breathwork® requires a supervised apprenticeship phase completed within the official certification track. Spiritus8® offers candidates the opportunity to fulfill this requirement under the direct mentorship of Stephenie Purnell.

With over sixteen years of dedicated personal practice and advanced training under senior members of Stanislav Grof’s lineage, Stephenie is a second-generation Holotropic Breathwork® facilitator and one of only five certified facilitators in Texas.

Trance Movement™

Stephenie trained directly with Aernoudt Knecht in Germany, making her a first-generation Trance Movement™ facilitator. After extensive study within its European context, she is now one of only two certified Trance Movement™ facilitators in the United States.

Certification in Trance Movement™ requires candidates to independently facilitate a Trance Movement™ event.Stephenie is available to travel to support candidates in leading this event within their local setting, or candidates may host their event within a Spiritus8® container.

Apprenticeship & Mentorship Include:

• Required supervised facilitation hours for Holotropic Breathwork® certification

• Direct mentorship in ethical containment, facilitation presence, technique, and group leadership

• Advanced container management and professional standards

• Depth-oriented learning within live facilitation settings

• Exposure to high-trust private and executive-level environments

• Supportive mentorship through personal and facilitation-related process work

These opportunities prepare facilitators to hold expanded states work with safety, maturity, and ethical rigor.
